A true Dutch family restaurant at the harbour

Step into the Dutch living room of Scheveningen: Delft blue tiles, windmills on the walls and hundreds of warm little lights. From the kitchen come fresh pancakes and poffertjes (mini pancakes) made to grandma’s recipes, a generous lunch menu and proper Dutch home cooking: daily changing stamppot (Dutch mash) and slow-cooked stews. Free parking at the door during the day and the terrace overlooks the marina. With kids, with grandparents or with a whole party: everyone is welcome at the table.

The hospitality of Oma Toos

Oma Toos is named after a real grandma from The Hague. At her kitchen table there was always a full pan, a warm smile and room for an extra plate. You can still taste that feeling here today.

At the harbour of Scheveningen we bring her recipes to life every day: pancakes and poffertjes just like in the old days, served among Delft blue tiles with the boats within arm’s reach. No fuss, just genuine hospitality at an honest price.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book, or can I just walk in?

Walk-ins are always welcome. At weekends and with larger groups we recommend booking, so your table is ready and waiting. You can book online via the Book a table button or by phone on +31 70 444 94 28.

Are children welcome at Oma Toos?

Very much so. In the middle of the restaurant stands a playhouse shaped like a Dutch canal house, and there is a kids’ menu and high chairs. The whole family has a great time.

What about parking?

There is plenty of parking right outside. Parking is free during the day; paid parking applies from 18:00.

Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The restaurant is spacious and fully wheelchair accessible, including an adapted toilet.

Can I come to you for a party or a large group?

Certainly. For weddings, birthdays, company parties, meetings and funeral receptions we have our own floor with a terrace and views over the harbour. Get in touch and we will gladly think along with you.

From what time can I order food?

The kitchen is open daily from 10:30. The restaurant itself is open from 10:00 to 21:00.
