Traditional Dutch food like grandma made it

Dutch cuisine is home cooking at heart, and that is exactly what we serve at our typical Dutch restaurant. Lunch means hand-rolled meatballs on a soft white roll, golden kroketten, hearty soups and generous uitsmijters. In the evening the classics take over: stamppot with smoked sausage, oma’s steak and other old-Dutch dishes that change with the seasons.

And of course there are the pancakes and poffertjes that made us famous, baked fresh all day to a family recipe. Sweet or savoury, as a meal or as dessert: no visit to the Netherlands is complete without them. See the full menu for all dishes and prices.

Dietary wishes are no problem: almost everything can be made vegan, gluten free or lactose free.

A Dutch living room with a harbour view

Eating Dutch cuisine means eating gezellig, and gezelligheid is what Oma Toos runs on. The restaurant feels like a Dutch living room: Delft blue tiles, old windmill prints, warm lights and staff that treat you like family. Through the windows you watch the yachts and fishing boats of the second inner harbour; in summer the waterside terrace doubles the experience.

We are ten minutes from The Hague city centre and a short walk from Scheveningen beach, which makes us a natural stop after a day of sightseeing. Kids entertain themselves in the playhouse in the middle of the restaurant, and parking outside the door is free during the day.
